Fresh peaches make all the difference in this old-fashioned cobbler that's perfect for late summer.
Ingredients
- 6 peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup sugar, plus extra for sprinkling
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 3/4 cup milk
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Peel and slice the peaches.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt, then stir in the milk just until combined.
- Pour the melted butter into a baking dish, then pour the batter over the butter â don't stir.
- Scatter the sliced peaches evenly over the batter, then sprinkle with a little extra sugar.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, until golden brown and the batter has risen up around the peaches.
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
